GrabNear is free to install on Microsoft Edge and takes under two minutes to set up. This guide walks you through the entire process — from finding the extension in the Edge Add-ons store to saving your first business contacts from Google Maps.
You need two things: Microsoft Edge (version 88 or later — any modern version is fine) and a free GrabNear account. You can create the account during setup or beforehand at grabnear.com. The whole process takes under 5 minutes from scratch.
In Microsoft Edge, click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top-right corner, then select "Extensions" → "Get extensions for Microsoft Edge". This opens the Edge Add-ons store. Alternatively, visit the direct GrabNear listing: microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons.
In the Add-ons store search bar, type "GrabNear". Click on "GrabNear — Business Finder & CRM" in the results. You'll see the extension listing page with screenshots and the description.
Click the blue "Get" button on the listing page. Edge will ask you to confirm the extension's permissions. Click "Add extension". The GrabNear icon (a blue G logo) will appear in your Edge toolbar immediately.
Click the GrabNear icon in the toolbar. A sign-in panel appears. Enter your GrabNear email and password, or click "Sign up free" if you don't have an account yet. Sign-up takes about 30 seconds — just email and password, no credit card.
Go to maps.google.com and search for any type of business and location. For example: "coffee shops in Melbourne" or "marketing agencies in Dubai". The map will load results.
Click the GrabNear icon in the toolbar. The extension reads the businesses visible on the map and displays them in a panel — with phone, address, rating, and website populated. Tick the businesses you want, then click "Save Leads to GrabNear". Your contacts land in the GrabNear CRM dashboard instantly.
Pin GrabNear to your toolbar: Right-click the GrabNear icon → "Show in toolbar" to keep it visible at all times. This makes it one click to open whenever you're on Google Maps.
